Famous Ceramics of Japan #9: Karatsu – Tarouemon Nakazato

An out-of-print and difficult publication to locate, and one of eleven books in the series on Famous Ceramics of Japan. It offers a comprehensive and visual color survey of the major works of Tarouemon XIII (Houan Nakazato). The book is a clear indication of the reverence given to his work and Japanese tea bowls and tea ceremony utensils in general. Karatsu, more than any other prefecture, never lost the vigor of the original Korean stoneware from which it is descended. This book is an excellent and rare resource for the Karatsu pottery enthusiast. Excellent condition. ISBN: 0-87011-551-0. Dated: 1983
