Japanese Miniature Lacquered Jubako (Bento Box)

This is an early 20th/century Japanese miniature Lacquered Jubako Bento lunch box with cover. It is lacquered in a chocolate color with gold decoration on all size in the four standard motifs (symbols of good fortune, including Daikoku, his mallet and money bag). This is a beautiful well-painted piece, in excellent original condition. Each of the four (4) sections boxes stack and are removable. No chips or dings on the finish. This was probably a wedding gift and considered quite unusual. Dimensions: 4-¼” square x 6-¾”h (10.8cm x17.1cm)
