Pair of Antique Handmade Japanese (Fuchin) Scroll Weights with Silk Tassels

Pictured is a beautiful set of rare Japanese handmade Fuchin from the 1900s, in excellent, original condition. They have a metal weight for the interior that is encased, (just like an egg,) with a wonderful braiding technique similar to the Haori-himo, which is a jacket tie, and delicate netting over the outer edges of the piece. Scroll weights are hung from the ends of the hanging scroll (Kakejiju) to add a decorative finish to any piece. Hooked around the roller ends, they help keep the scroll hang straight and control it from moving. The weights are beige on beige with a cocoa brown silk tassel. Dimensions: 10-0”L including tassels.
