The motif represented as natural rendered spring pink flowers basking in the sunshine. The artist notes, “flowers are like mirrors to the seasons, reflecting the passage of time”. The doll is fashioned after the Kijiyama style Kokeshi uniting the traditional head with the contemporary body motif. Made of one solid piece of Ash, (Kaibun), and finished with Rosoku no ro, (natural, non-colored finishing wax). Singed and titled by the artist.
Vintage Condition: “as is” with some scattered light wear or stain that does not affect the design, and retains the original craft/workmanship. Any discoloration, chipping/cracking, surface wear or structural damage noted.

Shown is a very unusual transitional doll. Not many examples of this artist’s creations are known. The motif represented here is naturally rendered spring pink flowers basking in the sunshine. The doll is fashioned after the Kijiyama style Kokeshi, uniting the traditional head with the contemporary body motif. Made of one solid piece of Ash, (Kaibun), it is finished with Rosoku no ro, (natural, non-colored finishing wax). The artist stated on the doll the following, “flowers are like mirrors to the seasons, reflecting the passage of time”.
No signature on the doll but we have seen other works that match the doll and its details stating his name for this identification.
