Offered is a vintage handmade Japanese silk Chirimen crouching Rabbit, (Usagi) made of a popular fabric for many forms of sewn crafts. The entire Rabbit is wonderful bright red with white flowers surrounded by whipping clouds throughout the body. The fabric is relatively thick and heavy with a bit of rough surface texture because of how it is woven. The Rabbit has black eyes, long ears, and a bun tail. Wonderful to hold for it is stuffed with recycled fabrics giving it a semi-firm body. The piece was purchased in Takayama Japan which is known as a crafts town.
Condition: Excellent and personal identification employing Japanese handicrafts retaining the original craft/workmanship. Exhibits wonderful sewing technique, in gently used condition.
