Yajirou Ejiko is some of the most brightly painted of the traditional family set. Utilizing a veritable rainbow of colors, here in red, black to green with one rare feature. This Kokeshi is a container that separates at the waist. When opened it contains a miniature baby with a ‘bobblehead in the same graphic design as the outer form. The upper body usually has a hand-painted collar with horizontal stripes encircling the body, as in the ‘Rokoru moyo’ style. And finally, an abstract chrysanthemum is on the front and backside of the body. It has double eyelids, a cat-shaped nose. This Yajirou Nesting doll is made of the preferred wood dogwood, (mazuki). The piece is signed on the bottom of the doll.

Condition: Mint means that the piece retains its original craft/workmanship showing a wonderful-developed patina commensurate with its vintage. It is void of damage, cracks, breakage, or repairs and meets all the standards of the collectible Traditional Kokeshi.
