Chinese Shiwan (Shekwan) Ware | Li Bai Reading Sutra | 20th/Century

The intense spiritual expression on this Li Bai face shows his pleasure in reading and sharing the sutras. The piece utilizes Flambe glazing. His head is unglazed, with a glazed white beard and top notch.

Condition: excellent: no chips or missing elements, repairs or crazing. Pieces with an impressed stamp of “CHINA” on the bottom, indicate this piece was made between 1890-1919. After that time the mark changed. Dimensions: 2-1/2”w x 3-1/4”h (6.35cm x 8.2cm).
