Chinese Shiwan (Shekwan) Ware | Set of Five Yoke Bearers with Peach and Coin | 1920-1950

This group represents vintage mud men as commoners, (male and female) bearing a, “yoke”, carrying a peach, and coin or medallion, suspended from the ends of the yoke, using various combinations of glazing. These figurines features traditional glaze colors of blue, yellow, green, with accents in brown and black, details of the entire figure are finely rendered.

Condition: Very good: no chips or missing elements, repairs or crazing. Some pieces have an impressed stamp of “CHINA” on the bottom, and others have no markings. From our understanding, these pieces were made in China or Hong Kong for tourist export. Dimensions: standard sizes average 4-0”w x 4-1/4”h.
