This Nara Ittabori, (one blade carved), rabbit is very expressive and beautifully executed in Hinoki (Japanese cypress). It is simple and unadorned, focusing attention on it’s natural material which has developed a deep, rich patina over the years. The little rabbit is one of the twelve animals of the Japanese zodiac and carved for display in an effort to bring good luck. It would be a thoughtful Easter or New Years gift for someone who is a rabbit lover and born in the “Year of the Rabbit”.

This wooden figure comes in it’s original signed Kiriwood box. On the lid is Kanji is written “usage”, (rabbit), with the artists signature which also is on a paper tag in the inside of the original Tomobako, and on the bottom of the carving.

Vintage Condition: Exceptional. “As is”, and retains the original craft/workmanship. Any discoloration, chipping/cracking, surface wear or structural damage noted.
