Japanese Vintage Satsuma Yaki Ceramic Rabbit with Black and Gold decoration by Heian Tachikichi

This wonderful Satsuma figure is of a seated rabbit looking very attentive and is a type of earthenware pottery originating from the Satsuma province in Southern Kyūshū. Naturalistically modeled, this rabbit has front paws decorated with black and gold patches on a white color base. He has a wonderfully- rendered snout that is accented with gold whisker spots, and has pink eyes and black, accented ear interiors. The piece has the artist's impressed mark on the bottom of the piece.
Condition: Mint condition and as originally crafted and in perfect condition retaining the beautiful crafting of this rare rabbit. No chips, cracks, or breaks.
