This is a RARE COLLECTORS FIRST, UNABRIDGED EDITION, UNCIRCULATED COPY. 1st ed., 8 boxed volumes with 8 VHS tapes in their individual set slipcases. Historical, Cultural Perspective and Editorial Writings by Inumaru, Tadashi and Yoshida, Mitsukuni, with Technical Perspective by Japan Traditional Craft Center. An extraordinary set of Collectors References/books and videotapes about traditional Japanese crafts. Book/Topics include Textiles (v. 1-2), Ceramics (v. 3), Lacquerware (v. 4), Wood and Bamboo (v. 5), Metal and Stone (v. 6), Paper and Dolls (v. 7), and Writing Utensils and Household Buddhist Altars (v. 8). Each volume has between 150-200 pages, lavishly illustrated with hundreds of beautiful, professional photographs, primarily in color. Black and white photographs illustrate the processes used in these crafts. Each book is hardbound in orange cloth, with a dark yellow cloth slipcase. VHS tapes are bound two to a volume in orange hardbound cloth; each tape is a companion piece to one volume of the set. Text is in English, with cut lines and titles in English and Japanese. This set was not a library copy and was previously owned by a Japanese corporate publishing executive, (although originally published for libraries by the Kikomen Corporation). This is a full set and volumes will not be sold on an individual basis.

Vintage Condition:  Each volume is in Excellent condition, fully intact, unbroken spines in an original cloth-covered slipcase. Each VHS tape is in original condition and fully operable, and can easily be converted to state-of-the-art technology. “As is”, and retains the original craft/workmanship. Any fading/discoloration, surface wear, or structural damage was noted.
