Yajirou dolls are some of the most brightly painted of the traditional family set. Utilizing a veritable rainbow of colors, from the usual red, and black to green with one rare feature. This Kokeshi is a container that separates at the waist. When opened it contains five (5) miniature Kokeshi all representing the various versions of the Yajirou-Kei family. The upper body usually has a hand-painted collar with horizontal stripes encircling the body, as in the Rokoru moyo style, and vertical stripes running below the waist to the base of the doll.
This rare Yajirou has a conical hat known as Suge-Gasa. It is shown with one eyelid and a tiny cat-shaped nose and red lips. The piece s made of cherry wood The piece is signed on the bottom. Exceptional collectors find and rarely seen in this perfect and beautifully detailed condition.

Condition: Mint means that the piece retains its original craft/workmanship showing a wonderful-developed patina commensurate with its vintage. It is void of damage, cracks, breakage, or repairs and meets all the standards of the collectible Traditional Kokeshi.
