Presented here is the only Softbound reference available for the prints of Tsuchiyu Koitsu in an 80-page catalog containing many of Koitsu’s most famous shin hanga woodblock print scenes in vivid color. IT also contains never-to-be-seen unpublished works (hansihit-e) and also Koitsu’s very rare watercolor paintings. Included in this reference text is a small section of rare prints by Koitsu’s contemporaries - Kiyochika Kobayashi, Kawase Hasui, and Hiroaki Takahashi (Shotei). Although the text is in the Japanese language, it is still an invaluable reference source of Koitsu’s early and later works.
The book contains 122-full color images and a comprehensive description and background information on each Koitsu print and an eight-page comprehensive biography in chronological order on Tsuchiya Koitsu’s life.
