This wonderfully detailed set of two clay Okimono, (ornament for display and typically displayed in a Tokonoma alcove or Butsudan altar). Daruma figures posed in which one has his fly whisk over his shoulder, while the other is playing a Shamisen (musical instrument also called sangen) which was a spiritual tool for meditation practices and along with the music was originally based on the traditions of Shintoism. Each is detailed in different positions dressed in garments such as a cowl over his head, and the other with a white Hachimaki, (bandana) on his head. Both have incised stamps on the bottom translated Hashiyama.
Condition: Very Good vintage condition and commensurate with age as seen in the loss of some glazing from loving attention.
