This is a wonderful Demitasse Spoon from Japan and typically made for souvenirs for the international traveler. The bowl of the spoon is and hand etched stylized version of a cherry blossom with the stem having a faux bamboo motif terminating in a Daruma finial (Daruma is a traditional doll modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of the Zen tradition of Buddhism). These typically came in a boxed set and would be great as a replacement piece or to complete a set. Marked Sterling Silver on the back and believed to have been made by the silversmiths of Asahi Shoten in Kobe/Japan.

Condition: A quality spoon in excellent condition with few light oxidization marks, excellent pattern, and motif detail. There are no damage issues.
