Dimensions: 2-1/4”h x 1-3/4” dia.

Offered is a set of three classic finger-spinning tops, (koma) with an unusual finish treatment called Harmonic Chattering, incorporating a Birikan’na treatment in keeping with the squat shape of this compact form to keep the top spinning smoothly. The body of the top is made from the end grain of maple, which is one of four hardwoods to withstand the force of the chatter tool. Each top has decorative crowns to twirl the top and activate spinning and incorporates a knurled design to give a better grip; the bodies of each are beautifully carved in horizontal multi-colored strips, as well as the bottoms of each are also carved and decoratively finished incorporating a variety of colors—the tip or point where the top spins and balances is on the very bottom.

Condition: Excellent, meaning that the piece retains its original craft/workmanship and shows a wonderful, developed patina commensurate with its vintage. This suggests a degree of wear that corresponds to its vintage. Each top is void of damage, cracks, breakage, or repairs.
