Being offered is a very unusual hand-formed Red Maneki-neko Marufuku, (beckoning or Inviting cat) which is a common Japanese talisman which is often believed to bring good luck to the owner. The figure has a wonderful expressive face and unusual detail. Its’ left paw raised in a Japanese beckoning gesture. The paw indicates the expansive reach of the cat’s lucky magic for the home or business. The Red Maneki Neko Marufuku, a charming lucky cat figurine that also serves as a Feng Shui-inspired money box. The cat has a white enameled collar from which an inscribed amulet is hanging with a character which means luck or prosperity. Below that amulet is a three-dimensional relief of Daruma which is a common religious folklore representing strength and perseverance, and represents the two best Japanese lucky symbols together. The figure has a cloth cover on the bottom with a seal of the maker.
