Rare Vintage Japanese Kutani Porcelain Rabbit Figurine
We are not accepting orders from December 8 - Jan 1, 2025. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will resume sales on Jan 1st.
Dimensions: 1-1/4”h x 1-1/2”w x 2-5/8”l
Superb, rare Kutani porcelain figure of a wonderful Rabbit, with white glazing and patches of gold, adding brushed detailing to simulate the fur. He has black eyes, floppy, long ears, a delicate mouth with whiskers, with great detail and attention to modeling. The piece has an overglazing of a lightly signed artist script indicating this is a Kutani artist from this period, with a “Made in Japan” stamp on the bottom, (1912-1926). Even though this piece was made during an earlier time period, and in this case Meiji, such pieces had to be stamped “Made in Japan” to be exported if sold at a later date than it was made.
Condition: Mint condition and as originally crafted and in perfect condition retaining the beautiful crafting of this rare rabbit. No chips, cracks, or breaks.
