This doll represents a person from the cold climate of the northern island of Hokkaido. This un-ornamented doll was made to appear as if she were tanned from the light reflection of the snow, and have a shiny finish so that the observer could see himself/herself in the head of each doll. The doll the artist inscribed:
“Snowflakes are skyflowers, pale blossoms from the clouds, they tan our bodies, and wither on earth".
Vintage Condition: “As is” with some scattered light wear or stain that does not affect the design, and retains the original craft/workmanship. Any discoloration, chipping/cracking, surface wear, or structural damage noted.

These two dolls represent a husband and wife from the cold climate of the northern island of Hokkaido.
