Vintage Japanese Yajirou Container with Lid / Spinning Tops by Kamata, Bunichi (1900)


Dimensions: 4-1/4”h x 4-0”dia.

Offered is a beautifully ornamented and delicate wood container with five spinning tops. The most descriptive elements are its red camellia flower with a flower bud on the top of the lid and Chrysanthemum flowers on the sides. All are framed with red and green stripes. It has a natural bamboo fashioned handle and a multi-colored tie to keep the lid in place. The five sinning tops that are included are multi-shapes and primary colors. The piece is signed on the bottom by Kamata-san.

Condition: Excellent and beautiful condition retaining the original craft/workmanship showing a wonderfully-developed patina and is commensurate with age. The piece meets all the standards of Traditional Kokeshi-style toys.
