Vintage Japanese Wooden Folk Bird Whistle Toy by Katakura Family

This Bird Whistle produces a melodious sound like a bird singing from the tree branches in the rainy season. Built from the perspective of an artist a bright natural life-like body in rainbow colors with an adjustable head in two positions: The first with the head up as if singing and the second position is down as if looking at the surroundings. It has large eyes, a red beak, a body and tail, and a tail used as a mouthpiece to create sound. It has a well-proportioned detachable stand. The carving is made of Mazuki (dogwood). It is unsigned.
